Highland Kitchen

It's 8:30 on a Thursday night, and the dining room is full and the bar is lively.  Upon entering, you're always greeted with a smile.  Despite it's off the beaten path location, the scene promises to attract a diverse crowd, from grungy hipsters to young professionals, in any case seamlessly coming together.
It's a very cozy dining experience,
so hopefully you like your neighbors.
The daily specials are posted on a chalkboard, written by an individual who grew up during the era of when penmanship actually mattered.
Their menu has a quirky, nostalgic, I look like I should be on the
highly acclaimed AMC show Madmen feel to it.

My favorite thing on the menu: Spicy coconut curried goat stew
with Jasmine rice & fried sweet plantains

Appetizer: Mussels steamed in coconut curried lobster broth with cilantro & scallions
Sides & Snacks: Fried sweet plantains
Never one to pass up dessert: Warm banana bread pudding
with caramel sauce & vanilla ice cream

I can't leave out their beloved Jukebox, filled with funk, reggae, soul, rock...always good beats happening.

Not to mention, they also host Wednesday karaoke nights and live music on Sundays!
This was just a typical Monday night.  Out celebrating a friend's birthday with a Dirty Tecate.
