agate

There is a clear pattern of my mini obsession right now,
big statement necklaces.
What better inspiration than my
other love, mother earth.

Nightmare before Christmas

Halloween is right around the corner...
This is the last week to find your costume!
What are you going to be?

Here is some high fashion inspiration,
via Vogue Paris.

This year I think I'm going to channel
my inner Marie Antoinette.
Stay tuned for photos.

This one's just for fun. Other than chocolate,
another Halloween favorite of mine:
Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Easy Riders

Fur and denim,
I mean really, is there a better match?
(Probably, but don't argue, just enjoy)

sneak peek inside Coco Rocha's apt

Needed some inspiration for the condo.

Coco Rocha's Gramercy Park,
Manhattan apartment

“These are Andy Warhol’s actual candleholders. I got them at one of his estate sales and thought they were the coolest thing,” she says.
“These teapots are from all the different places I have been to for photo shoots—from Morocco to Michigan,” Rocha says. “It was James’s idea to cover the books in old newspaper, and one of the books is actually wrapped in a paper from June 1911, which is almost 100 years before our wedding date.”
Although she crafted her dream closet, the model admits that half her collection of clothes has overflowed into the closets in her guest bedroom/study.
What a concidence, I have that same problem...
 “My closet is full of a lot of vintage pieces, and everything is very random,” she says of choosing her own clothes for her sitting. “I have Tudor-era clothes mixed in with pieces from the 1920s and 1940s.”
 “This piggy bank is one of my favorite things,” Rocha says. “I love how at first glance it looks like a YSL bag, but when you take a closer look you realize it actually reads, yove saved la rent. It’s genius!”
Beyond genius. Love it.
“I found this dress form on the street. I guess it was a child’s dress form because it’s so small,” Rocha says. “Anyway, there were a couple of pennies glued onto it and I thought it looked great, so I kept gluing pennies to it until I had covered the model. Then I decided to add some feathers to the piece and . . . voilĂ !”
She's beautiful and crafty.
“James is always laughing at me for buying things like very expensive pillows for the bed,” Rocha says of her bedroom. “He thinks they just end up on the floor.”
“This photograph is a wedding present from Steven Meisel,” Rocha says. “I’ve never liked hanging my model photos in my home, but this is an exception because it almost looks like a painting.”

Shoe Shopping

Two simple words.
Combined, a lethal weapon to most men;
to all women, their legal drug.

Shoe + Shopping =
Two words that I will never say NO to.

When Scot asked me to accompany him to find
a new pair of black shoes;
per my last statement, how could I resist this offer?

 Black tunic tee: L.A. Made
(great layering piece)
Gray jeggings: H&M

 Scarf: Filene's Basement
(I miss the downtown crossing location so much)
Black studded shoulder bag: Urban Outfitters

 Zip up sweater: James Perse
(of course it's from the Sample Sale last weekend)
Knee-high teal suede boots: Nordstrom

Aviator shades: Marc by Marc Jacobs at Saks
Necklace: Francesca's boutique
Ring: Gift from Greece (thanx Claudia)

Unfortunately, it was an unsuccessful trip for Scot.
Fortunately, I was able to score a pair of
Black lace-up menswear style Charles David ankle booties!

 Patent leather detail on the toe and heel

 This photo is a little creepy,
like a severed leg kind of creepy;
but I kinda like it.

 Lace up detail

 Rockin them with my pink knee high socks

 Menswear inspired detail

 Leopard detail inside the shoe!
Just like the lining inside a jacket;
you'll never see it, but it's like icing on the cake.

These would also look amazing with
 trousers or wide leg denim!

<3 <3 <3

It's funny cz I actually found these shoes at Off Broadway,
a store that I never go into.
This just proves, that you'll never know what you'll find,
so don't judge a store by it's cover.
