Marc does drag

Oh Marc Jacobs.  How do I love thee?  Let me count the ways.

Reason #5, 6, 7 why I love this man.
Great gams.
Comfortable in his own skin.
Doesn't give a F.

On a more serious note.  I doubt that Grazia Mag was inspired by that scene, but looking at this spread, one can never know.

Here we have Terese Pagh sporting an eclectic wardrobe filled with lace, metallics, and knits. Oh my!

Braidy bunch

If I ever had the patience, I would love to try this.  Too bad I don't know how to french braid, and I chopped off all my hair.  Maybe next year.

Russian Knits

That New England chill just keeps getting chillier as we go deeper into November.  This spread on uber-cozy knitwear, helped me think warmer thoughts.

Chanel Le Vernis Riva

So I am a huge fan of the the dark nail polish trend.  Whether it's in or out, I don't really care.  I always have a bottle of "Lincoln Park After Dark" by OPI on hand at all times.

And then there was Riva, Chanel's latest lacquer creation.  That baby blue hue reminds me of the icy frost that's on everybody's windshields each morning; but takes me away to the crystal clear ocean along the 7 mile beach in the Cayman Islands.  Tan or no tan, this shade will look superb on any skin tone.
Get yours today, if you can.  It's the new accessory that everyone wants, but no one can have.  Apparently it debuts this December, but it's already sold out.  At $39 a bottle, it's definitely an investment piece to add in your nail polish collection.

It's up to you whether you think it's worth it, or not.

Jessica Szohr on Asos

Ahh, Gossip Girl.  My not-so-secret-anymore guilty pleasure.  Everybody has at least one, whether they like to admit it or not.  Embrace it, and don't be ashamed, unless of course it's the Jersey Shore, then I might have to judge...

At first, I was DVRing the show to check out the fantastic stylings of Eric Daman. I would literally fast forward through the show, and stop when I got to the outfits of the infamous BFF's S & B.  As I was admiring their wardrobe, I actually began listening to their conversations and decided: NO, I am definitely not getting into this crap.  Another show about teenage angst and promiscuity, but ooohh, the style.  Four seasons later, I'm addicted.

Anyway, here is the November 2010 editorial of the gorgeous Jessica Szohr aka Vanessa Abrams from this new online mag I stumbled upon: ASOS magazine.  Great source, check it out.

"Qu'ils mangent de la brioche"

To translate:
"Let them eat cake."
This phrase is commonly associated to Marie Antoinette; but there are no records of these words ever being expressed by her.

Since my plan for Halloween was to channel my inner Marie Antoinette, I needed visual inspiration to prepare for this prestigious role.  Yes, the movie written & directed by Sofia Coppola is basically watching Kirsten Dunst and crew eat, drink, party, drink, shop, and did I mention drink?  However, I think both women did a visually stimulating job in capturing the essence of her reign during the 1700's.

Talk about pressure: At the age of fourteen, she married Louis-Auguste and became the Dauphin of France.  After the death of King Louis XV, her husband ascended the throne of France as King Louis XVI and she assumed the title of Queen of France.

And did I mention the shoes!? Deep sigh...
Silk, taffeta, lace! Oh my!

Even Christian Louboutin was inspired!

This purse was reminiscent of the era,
and I just thought it was stunning.

Here it is.
The moment you've all been waiting for.
Here I am,
channeling my inner Marie.
